New Theme Test

This is a home page test for what happens when the theme for a specific country is changed to a different theme called “twenty twenty”. As you can see, not only is the design different, but also the content and navigation. This is because the modules used in original theme do not carry over to new theme. The default content for new theme is what shows instead. In this case the default content was probably setup by Meclabs years ago.

A country site admin that switches to a different theme would then have to add back modules that were removed after the theme was changed…and then apply new content within each module added. When adding our modules to a page that is using a new theme, the modules show up in the drop down for choosing and they display in the editor…BUT the modules do not get respected to show in browser after publishing…A developer on our end would need to manually allow each module added to be respected in new theme.

NEXT STEPS:

1.) Try duplicating the Joint theme to confirm modules can be added to copy of theme without any additional coding.

2.) Try getting a theme to only affect a specific page so two different themes can be used on same site.

RESEARCH:

1.) In order to have more than one theme applied to specific pages, try installing the Multiple Themes plugin.

2.) An alternative to multiple themes would be a WordPress Page Builder. Best page builder options found here.
